1. Introduction

These terms explain the rules for using our services, what you can expect from us, and your rights and responsibilities. They apply to all work carried out by Blu Cooling & Red Heating LLP (Companies House LLP OC362655), trading as Blu Cooling & Red Heating.

2. When these terms apply

By using our services you agree to these terms together with our privacy policy and cookie policy. The latest version published on this site always applies.

3. What we mean by "services"

"Services" includes enquiries, estimates, project work, installations, repairs, emergency call-outs, servicing and guarantees across all the trades we offer.

4. Terminology

"Us", "we" and "our" means Blu Cooling & Red Heating LLP. "You" means the customer. "Engineer" means the engineer or engineers we appoint to carry out the work. We reserve the right to refuse work and to designate which engineer attends.

5. Hourly-rate work

Charges for hourly-rate work consist of labour (time spent by the engineer at our current hourly rate) plus materials (trade purchase price plus a 10% markup). You only pay for time spent on your work, excluding breaks. All charges are subject to VAT.

6. Fixed-price work

For fixed-price work we provide a firm cost including labour and materials, subject to VAT. A written estimate should not exceed the actual cost of our time by more than 20%, but may be revised where there is additional work, an increase in material prices, unforeseen work, or a manifest error. Insurance reports incur a £25 charge. Only written estimates signed by an authorised representative are binding.

7. Invoices and payment

A 50% deposit is payable on agreement; we reserve the right to request full payment in advance. The balance is due on receipt of invoice. Unpaid amounts accrue interest at 4% over the Bank of England base rate.

8. Timekeeping

We use reasonable effort to attend on schedule but accept no liability for non-attendance or delays beyond our reasonable control.

9. Cancellation

Cancellations must be notified by the end of business on the day before the booking. Cancellations made later may be charged for time, materials and lost profit.

10. Satisfaction

If you are dissatisfied with our work you must notify us in writing within 12 months, allowing us to inspect and carry out any remedial work. Failure to notify us voids any related liability claim.

11. Guarantee

We provide a 12-month labour guarantee covering faulty workmanship from the date of completion, in addition to any manufacturer warranties. The guarantee is void if the work is misused, negligently handled, or modified by anyone we have not authorised. Blockages, work carried out against our engineer's advice, and work on inferior or 10-year-old-plus installations are not guaranteed.

12. Liability

We guarantee only our own work and are not responsible for damage arising from work that was overlooked or not requested. Our engineers operate under their individual Gas Safe registration and hold sole responsibility for gas-related liability.

13. General

These terms may only be modified by a written instrument signed by an authorised representative. They are governed by English law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
